They Shall Not Pass was a casual, social raiding Guild on Nordrassil-EU. It has now stopped raiding on Nordrassil and the raid team has moved to Ragnaros-EU and changed faction to be Horde, although TSNP is staying on Nordrassil as a social space and a number of the raiders will regularly be around checking up on old friends, doing some pvp and just enjoying life. If you want to raid in a relaxed and friendly way, pop on over and take a look at the Origami Crazy Monkeys. If you're looking for a friendly social space, quiet but not dead, with some experienced players willing to help you in-game, then do feel free to join TSNP - /w someone from the guild in game or send an in-game mail to Bauris on Nordrassil.

After some chat and some testing we have decided to try and build a raiding team over on a new realm, Ragnaros-EU. As it happens we will also be Horde, not Alliance any more. In the end this decision was brought about by the difficulties of maintaining regular raiding on Nordrassil. TSNP had raided end-game content regularly, twice a week, for some three years but after the Christmas break 2012 we found it impossible to get a raid group of 10 back together. In the past this has happened at various points, as people shift around in what they're doing, but we were always able to pug in the one, two of three we needed to keep raiding, sometimes meeting interesting new people this way. This time it's not been possible.
We feel that a general decline has occurrd on Nordrassil, many people we know seem to have moved, left the game or simply not be around anymore. There are some particular reasons Nord might have changed, none of which need to be gone into, but the realitiy is that we either packed up raiding as a social group and went our seperate ways, joining other raid groups on Nordrassil, or we tried something else. Well we started a load of new toons over on Ragnaros and the place seems more lively and like a viable option. It's also PVP realm so as well as changing to Horde we've also shifted a little in the type of space we play in, with a view to reinvigorating our fun times.
Bauris will be staying on Nordrassil as the GM of TSNP and for the forseeable future TSNP will be a social guild. Badb/Victrix will also be staying on Nordrasil but she has a new raiding toon on Ragnaros. Bauris' alt (Macha, now Qayin as Horde tauren) has transferred to Ragnaros as a raiding toon. For anyone in TSNP I have placed my battle net account details into the TSNP Guild Info, so if you want to chat, get in contact and maybe play cross-realm, then please do get in touch. If you want to come along and raid with us or if you just want to start a new toon to come and socialise you would be very welcome. You can either transfer a toon or start a new one. The latter is obviously the cheaper option and we wouldn't expect new toons to 'rush to get raid ready'. It will still be the same relaxed atmosphere over there on OCM as it was in TSNP. Anyone from TSNP is welcome in OCM, our new raiding home. We will be social raiding end-game content, with the usual friendly, no hassle atmosphere as our goal.
We've enjoyed our time on Nordrassil. Bauris has been there since TBC when he entered the game and will stay there until Nordrassil dies I expect - I can't imagine the big blue draenei ever being anything other than a big blue draenei.
many thanks to everyone in TSNP for the great times and I look forwrad to playing with you all again at some point, in some place...

From Drop Box Raiding has been a bit slack recently, with a drop off in sign ups as half a dozen of our raiders have been taking a break. That means we're looking to recruit a few more people again. So, we're on a recruitment drive and there's a guild recruiting macro that we'd like people to use when they pop into town - just spam the macro once or twice and if you get any enquiries you don't feel able to handle then pass them onto one Badb/Morrig or Bauris/Macha.
The macro is as follows:
/2 <They Shall Not Pass><25> is a social raiding guild. We've got 5 bosses down and are looking for more. We like to PvP, have a laugh, the usual stuff. If you're interested and wanna play in a relaxed atmosphere, give us a shout.
Nice and simple, although of course you;re welcome to make something more personal if you feel like it ... (oh god, I can imagine what some of those will look like...)
In other news, we're setting up some toons on the Horde side on another server (yes you heard right, that's Horde) - RAGNAROS (EU). The idea is to have a little fun levelling and to see what a more highly populated server is like as some of us feel Nordrassil is a little lacklustre these days. Bauris real ID is razorsmile#2546, so add me. I've also made a chat channel called TSNP which you should be able to join. No doubt there'll be some odd level 25 guild we can all use for the perks, more news on that as we go along. If you want to join the fun, come along.
UPDATE - A lot of the Guild have taken the idea of some Horde fun and run with it and so a Guild has been established on Ragnaros-EU, called Origami Crazy Monkeys, a battle net page is over here. It does mean that the TSNP Nordrassil Guild might be a little light on the ground at times as lots of levelling is going on over on Rag, but people are on Mumble and chatting away and you can contact Bauris via REal ID (details in TSNP Guild Info) to chat and keep in contact. If you fancy some Horde fun why not pop over to Ragaros, start a toon and ask someone in OCM to invite you.

So we took a break from any real progress style raiding over the Christmas and New Year holidays and ran a bunch of old content with fun in mind, gaining some achievements and filling out some meta's for mounts...now, who fancies a little Shadowmourne fun for the Lich King's horsey ...

I've been getting a little frustrated with the sound quality of the Vent server and have secured a Mumble server for testing. I'd like to get this tested in the next few weeks, so can peeps download a Mumble client and login, and try using this service instead of the Vent server for general Guild communications and, ideally, for our raiding. There are a whole bunch of nifty features, like the overlay for example which brings onscreen (over the game) the name of the person speaking (always helpful) as well level automation and noise attenuation (which means turning down the sound ingame when somone is speaking). The usual Push-to-talk features are there and the server is 35 slots for the same price as our 25 slot Vent.
Download a Mumble client from here if you haven't got one already.
The password is the same as on the Vent server (if you've forgotten, it's in the Guild Info tab ingame).
The server details are:
address: theyshallnotpass.mymumble.com
port: 4697
You will be 'rejected' for having the wrong password (because you haven't entered one yet). A little box should come up for password entry. Enter the same password as for the Vent server.
(Don't forget you might have to run Mumble as an admin, same problem as some people had with Vent. See this thread for exmaple).

We've been making reasonable progress in the new MOP raids, 4/6 in MV and 1/6 in HoF, giving us 5 boss kills in total. That said, Zorlok is still a bastard and we've yet to 'polish' (hahahahahaha) our kills. The first 4 of MV are now farmable but Zorlok might take a couple more goes before we're all nonchalantly killing him. Still, the progress has been good and with Christmas holidays coming we will probably be hanging around the 5 boss kills until the new year, depending on how many people are around over the hols.
I've been a bit remiss with kill shots but you can check the Zorlok kill above and here are links to our Garajal kill and the Spirit Kings.

Lore has a nice straight forward outline of getting yourself prepped and reaid ready. Check out the video...

Fuzionn was the first in the Guild to hit level 90, leaving the rest of us in his dust - and not just those in the Guild, as it turns out he was in the first 30 to make 90 on Nordrassil. GuildOx has just started a ranking for those hitting 90. So big Gz to Fuzionn and thanks to him we see the TSNP name in the ranks. As it happens our good friend Airforcer has also made it into the top 100, so Gz to him too and we'll see you both at 90.

First off, congrats on the Heroic Kills, always nice. The death of Hagara on Heroic brings us to 5/8 HC...Summer has been good, with regular raiding and the continued rpgress, in a very relaxed manner. Now it's time to think about MOP and the upcoming expansion and tuning up the raiding. To that end, a few reminders and a couple of suggestions. We are a social raiding guild, so will always be a little more chilled than a progress guild but having said that we do try and get on with our raiding sensibly.
1) Raiders (Veteran rank) are prioritised for raidspots and raid loot - to get this you need to have signed the raid rules, just reply in the thread if you haven't already. You also need to be familiar with the other stuff on the 'Raiders Info' page.
2) Loot will be distributed via Loot Council. In effect this means the Raid Leader will usually decide what's happening, although the Loot Council consists of the GM and Officers. Veterans will get priority on their main raiding toon over Comrades.
3) Veterans are expected:
(a) to get ONE main toon raid ready and focus on that toon for raiding gear whilst active progression is underway. For any hybrid class you MUST run a viable Off Spec (all healers and tanks must be able to dps as well). The toon that is your 'LOOT TOON' is the one listed in the Raid Roster - agree what this is with the Raid Leader.
(b) to attend as many raids as possible. We will be progress raiding only twice a week and Veterans are expected to be able to attend at least one of these raids, usually both. Those people who cannot attend regularly should still sign up for raids when they can and we will try and get them along when possible but they should stay at Comrades rank until they feel they can attend regularly.
(c) to sign up as far in advance as possible using the in game Calendar and to keep the Raid Leader informed if they are unable to attend - everyone can now use the 'Warcraft Remote' for free, so if you can't log into the game then at least use the Armory calendar on the web or the Remote to contact someone in game and change calendar status.
(d) to try and max out their cap each week for valor point gear and ensure they gear up as fast as possible from LFR, HC's etc. If there are issues with this, owing to work or family commitments for example, make sure you keep the Raid Leader informed - just a friendly chat to keep her up to date is always useful.
(4) Whilst progress is active, BOE's from raids will go to the Guild Bank to be distributed by the Raid Leader. Epic craftable recipes will go to ASSIGNED GUILD CRAFTERS (we will list these on the Raid Roster). Crafters should be trying to produce as much as is useful for the Guild, inclduing Gems and Consumables, which we will try and supply at lower than Auction House prices (depends on the market as to how much lower these prices can be set). Crafters must talk to the Raid Leader about what they need to produce.
Most of this stuff is just straightforward common sense and being a bit organised.
I also have one suggestion.
The extra roll...
Once a week we do a raid roll - everyone in the Guild who raided that week will be on the roll list, including Comrades who might have been needed to fill a spot. One winner each week. After you win you drop out of the roll until all the Veterans have won once, then we will begin the cycle again. Each winner gets a BOE/Crafted Epic provided by the Guild. This will be IN ADDITION to any BOE's the Raid Leader distributes.
In order for this to work we will need to run, as a Guild, the various challenges, HC clears and raid boss kills need to raise gold. We can raise about 7.5k each week using these rewards, so all Guildies are strongly encouraged to help get these rewards each week. That means forming Guild groups as much as possible when you log on - sometimes that might mean waiting a while or doing a HC twice to ensure the Guild gets the reward.
I hope that all seems straightforward enough - comments welcome below.

So we've completed our main raid goals for this expansion and are maintaining regular raid nights on a social, rather than a progress basis. Things seem to be ticking along all fine at the moment, so I want to just mention a few things that people might want to do as the run up to 'Mists of Pandaria'.
1) Guild recruitment - we always welcome nice new social people into the Guild and we could also do with a few (between 2 and 5) more regular raiders. To that end, think about recruiting - go play some HC's to meet new and unguilded players, chat to people in trade, check with your mates etc. Also I'd like everyone to join the GuildOx site and add your star rating vote on the Guilds page, a good star rating over there is useful and I'll be updating our LFG advert regularly to keep our profile up.
2) Social / achievement raiding plans - there's a whole bunch of stuff we could be doing and if you have something you fancy, now is the time to get it done. As a rule we'll generally be mucking about with DS heroics and probably the Sinestra fight (Bastion of Twilight heroic) but if you have some mount you want or a title you would love to hang over your head, time to get on the case. This is also a good time to try out a little raid leading if you want to, or a new role if you fancy that.
3) PVP and RBG - again, this is a good time to get some experience in PVP and RBG. We've tried a little of the RBG recently but mainly with a semi-PUG setup and if you fancy maybe doing some arena pvp pr RBG then talk to Argonaught about gearing up via battlegrounds, what sort of things to do and how to get an arena team together. If you want to get into PVP more regularly then gearing up and getting experience now puts you in a good position for the start of the new expansion.
4) Raise an alt, practice a role - if you've always fancied having a go at tanking or healing or dpsing and never quite got a chance, then now might be the time to try this out. Obvisouly if we all went and did this at the same time we'd probably never get any boss killed, but if it's semi-coordinated with the raid leader (Badb) then it should be possible for anyone who fancies a change to get a chance to try out their shiny new alt. There will be alt runs organised for Saturday night at times and these would be the best starting point.
5) Move into raiding - if you've not been into the raiding game much, now's the chance to try it out. Wed and Sunday nights will be two hour runs from now on and until MOP, usually starting at 9pm server time until 11pm, so signup in game if you fancy that. Usually there's a minimal item level needed but if you want advice, again talk to Badb or Bauris. In addition, if you want to raid regularly in our social progress set-up once MOP drops then it's also a good idea to chat to others in the Guild about what sort of preperation will be needed. Usually raiders need to level and gear up through the heroic dungeons quite quickly so when MOP drops we'll try and co-ordinate that as much as possible. Regular raiders also need to be able to get along to raids at least once a week so if the raid timetable prevents you from doing that now is the time to chat to Bauris about what might be suitable so it's possible to co-oridnate the best times and schedules for all of us.

We finished the legendary quest for our raiding warlock Wolfana on Wednesday, and it was a major accomplishment for us, one of which we're very proud. TSNP is a small and social guild that does raid but never in a hardcore way, so to be able to sustain the Legendary quest through all the grinding and for members to have enjoyed that is a big thing in my book. I've uploaded a little video of the achievement coming through as Tarecgosa is finally handed over. Oh, btw, if you happen to be doing this quest yourself, don't try and hand in if you're still in your raid group...you get all the lovely intro from Kalecgos but no staff and then you have to do the whole entry across Stormwind again.
-

We're having fun doing our social raiding thing at the moment. The Legendary quest is about to be completed, having finally collected the fragments we now need to go get the stuff from Ragnaros. That's next week's job. This week we went back to BoT and took a peek there, filling in some kills for some people to get their 'Defender' titles and having a peek at some Heroic modes, which we will be returning to. As we had a little time left after our BoT recce we went hunting, got ourselves a Whaleshark and a Velskar. I'm looking forward to the bigger and more challenging world bosses in MoP.
We're currently open to new members who wanta social place or to people who want a regular raid spot. Whilst we're not doing any progress raiding at the moment, it's a good time to get involved with the Guild raids and get settled into the group if you do want to have a regular progress raid spot in MoP.

Ok there's a new offer on by Blizz for resurrecting expired WoW accounts. Your account time will have had to expire BEFORE 4 MARCH 2012 but if it did then you can get free upgrade to Cata, 7 days free play, a free realm transfer/faction change to the realm/faction of the person rezzing you and a boost to an instant level 80 on the transferring toon. Maybe your account expired and you have a toon that was a bank toon or somesuch, some low level thing, maybe you didn't get Cata, maybe you just got bored or ran out of cash for a bit. Whatever your reason, do contact us if you fancy a rez - the benefit for those doing the rezzing is a free mount :-) We'd also be more than happy to welcome some old or new friends into TSNP. There's enough of us in our Guild to offer rezzes to anyone who fancies playing, even if just for a week, or coming along to check out our Guild and maybe just say hi...if you want to use this offer just pop a comment below and someone will get in touch. (You can check here for some more details on the rez by the way. Or here, for the Blizzard FAQ.)

We've reached 7/8 in Dragon Soul and have now had a good 4 raid night attempts on Madness. As in previous tiers, we have problems with end bosses and so - unlike on Rag - we're not going to pursue this one intensely. That means that after tonight our progress raiding nights are now suspended until further notice, probably until 'Mists of Pandaria'. We WILL still be raiding, although simply less formally. In particular we're going to finish getting the Legendary for Wolfana and the Guild and maybe run a few of the achievements and Heroic modes in FL, maybe even go and pop Sinestra. There's plenty to do but we want to take it a little easy, enjoy our social play and get nice and refreshed for the new expac. This means that this is an excellent time for you to start raiding with us if you haven't before, for levelling an alt, for developing your PVP or maybe simply for getting that Loremaster or Archaeology achievement.
Activities will be organised via the in-game calendar so keep an eye out for that and feel free to put things in yourselves too, everyone at rank Comrade and above can enter events in the Calendar, just make sure they are 'Guild Eevents' if you want them listed in the 'Guild News' section and mass invites to all the Guild to go out.
-
Video of a recent Spine kill. We're still quite tight on the Tendon dps needed and miss it at times, so one of the things we've noted is that we can pop up the same side of the plate by ensuring we position the Amalgamation just off-centre, that way if we miss a tendon by a couple of percent we can get the same already damaged tendon back up again if we explode the Amalgamation on the same side.
-

We took a break from Dragon Soul on Saturday night to continue Wolfana's long road to the legendary and also got our Guild rag kill in, so congrats to all! We will be likely scheduling FL funruns for Saturday nights on a reasonably regular basis since we have some more work to do on the Legendary and we're also going to have a play at some of the achievements and HC modes. Dragon Soul will remain the Wednesday and Sunday raid target, with only Madness to down there (although we've yet to have a 7/8 run with 8 guildies, which is a pity since we don't get Guild credit on progression charts, but heyho, we're not a major progression guild anyway).
-
I've been a bit slack on getting screenshots of First Kill's, so I figured I would try and fill in some of the blanks over the next week or two and put some videos of us killing bosses in DS. As a Guild we've only got our progress on the first 4, the Siege, although as a group of raiders we're now at 6/8, munching through Blackthron the week before the 5% nerf came in and happily clearing 6/8 in just a couple of hours of raiding now. In order to do this we've had to team up with some friends from the Fallen Angels and the Chosen Exiles since our own raiding roster in TSNP has dropped off a bit since the Xmas break. We've had a couple people leave us, a couple of players disappear from wow and a couple of others change jobs and thus when they can raid. This has left us a bit low in numbers - which of course does mean that if you're interested in regularly raiding in a social, friendly way then maybe you should give us a shout. Anyhow, today's vid, the Blobmeister.
-

Well we've had a good run in Firelands, although we're a little frustrated at that Final Boss. There's a forum post over here for Guildies and Raiders about the Final Boss issue, so please go over there and read that.
MMO Champion is announcing the 4.3 patch dropping this week (29th/30th) and has a nice round up of bits and bobs.
What we don't want is to have the patch drop and then find ourselves agreeing with Illidan Stormrage...
So head on over to wowpedia for a brief overview of Dragon Soul, or perhaps you'd prefer TenTonHammer, or even Icy Veins - take your pick but look through at least one of them, pretty please with a cherry on top, you slacker bastards.
-
TSNP had a little extra work in this weeks raid as we had to pick up various charged thingummyjigs from the first 4 bosses so we could open the portal to Volcanus, part of the legendary quest chain for Dragonwrath (our lock, Wolfana, is making progress on this for the Guild).
-

A fun evening last night as we crashed through Majordomo Staghelm in what was a first for us, a progression boss down after 2 pulls. We had done 1 pull of Majordildo, as Babd calls him, last week but only for fun at the end of the raid. This week we went in and one shotted the first 5 bosses bringing us across the bridge and into the face of the lobster-cat-flamethrower boss. After a first pull which kinda went astray the second pull went a lot smoother and before we knew it the bugger was begging for mercy...which of course we refused, given their evil intent. Dead Staghelm...it was so quick I forgot to get a screenshot so you get to see our first look at Rag instead. There is a video of course, courtesy of Netol.
Having crushed Stag under our might (hehe) and with only 15 minutes left of raid time we wandered through to Rag, getting caught out on the trash, of course, though only once and then pulling Rag to get a look. That first pull took him to 80% and we look forward to tussling with him on Sunday...
-

We had to jiggle around our tactics a little on this one, with new people in the air - although I do love the feathers and casting Healing Touch on the run. Nice to see that bridge open and get a shot at Major - we'll be clipping Staghelms claws next... As usual Netol videoed the kill and will be popping that on the forums. (UPDATE:Direct Link Here)
The Alice kill brings us to 5/7 and we hope to move through the last couple of bosses in the next weeks. GJ everyone and let's keep rolling...
-

We downed the man with the blades last night in a rather momentous show of 'dot' power...crashing headfirst into the enrage timer that we'd been banging our heads against for a while. A dead boss gives loot though - for the inside on the job check the video. Good job everyone, 4/7 before the nerf hits and now it's time to kill the bird and cross the bridge.
-

Well it's a right pain in the proverbial to steer this bugger with ranged dps on the legs and only one melee, so we had a few car crashes - but in the end we got there, with a rather amazingly quick Phase 2. It's all about getting him to phase2...once we're there (and stay alive through that first AOE) we kill him easy.
Grats on 3/7 - onto Baleroc...
